Introduction
On the laps of the Himalaya where nature speaks spiritual and human beings perfumate natural, lies the golden valley Yolmo. Blessed and appointed by the great Ones, the Demon-subduer Guru Rinpoche
and the greatest Saint of all times-Milarepa as well protected by local deities and Guardians, Yolmo is one of the msot ideal spot in reference to Tibetan Buddhism for meditations, retreats, Spiritual Development and Peace.
Administratively, Yolmo lies within the Sindhupalchowk district of the Bagmati zone of the kingdom of Nepal; it lies towards th North-East of the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu, at a distance of approximately
100 Km. Some years ago, due to the unavailability of transportation or due to poor transportation, one had to walk for three or more consecutive days from Kathmandu to get there and through a very insecure route.
But nowadays, due to the increasing development in transportation sector, Yolmo is no longer a three days
trek; a healthy man can reach up there in one single day, safe and sound.
In a restricted sense, the term Yolmo refers only upto those slopes lying above the Melamche River Valley, and often only to the massif that leads upto the Ganja-la route to Langtang. (Melamche is the last station for vehicles from Kathmandu; then begins the Trek; Ganja-la and Langtang are one of the most popular Trekking spots (mountains) in the whole Nepal.)
